St. John Supports Liberia

ST. JOHN SUPPORTS LIBERIA

St. John has sent a monetary gift of to the small town of Lepula, Liberia, to help build a Methodist Church.  This is the hometown of former St. John member, Menker Bropleh, who is helping to raise the $15,000 needed to complete the church.  Our gift is processed through the General Board of Global Missions in New York and will be received by Bishop Innis in the Liberian District of Gompa.  Our love and prayers go with this gift to the people of Lepula where they are working hard to carry on the message of God’s love and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

This monetary gift comes from the Molly Sessoms Memorial Missionary Fund which is an endowed fund created by and funded by the St. John Women’s Circle.  Interest from the CD is drawn each year and goes straight into the mission field.  Memorial gifts are appreciated to make this fund grow!

In addition to these recent gifts, the St. John’s Women’s Circle also supports a program in Liberia which trains local pastors.  Gifts were made in 2005 and 2006 to this project.  This comes from the ladies’ pecan sales!  Thank you, friends at St. John, for being a partner in spreading God’s love in Liberia!
