Purpose

The St. John Children’s Center opened in March 1988 as a response of the congregation of the St. John United Methodist Church to meet the needs of the community, specifically to provide quality childcare for the children of working parents.  The Center is designed to be a place where children play and learn in a Christian atmosphere which highlights the importance of personal worth, consideration of others, trust, cooperation, and fellowship.

Our Commitment to Quality

St. John has a professional, loving staff and a very low teacher:child ratio.  This combination provides opportunity for individualized attention, which promotes high self-esteem and independent learning.  The majority of our staff has worked with St. John for over half of the years of the Center's operation; our staff consistency is a great benefit for the children!  Staff members attend professional workshops and training conferences regularly; all staff are trained in CPR and First Aid.  Teachers maintain open communication to enrich the growth of the children in our care.  We believe that the Center's success is founded in our commitment to low teacher:child ratios, low number of children in each class, and minimal staff turnover.
