St. John United Methodist Church invites all friends, neighbors, and family members to participate in a recognition ceremony for our community’s First Responders. Everyone is welcome. The brief ceremony will be at 11:45 in front of the church, and a fundraiser BBQ luncheon will follow at noon, rain or shine. The church worship service, which begins at 10:30, will also recognize our first responders and their contribution to the community.
The church will host a local ladder company, and encourages all other firefighters, police officers, and support personnel to attend. The general public is also invited to the worship service, to the recognition ceremony following, and to the BBQ lunch. While first responders will be treated to a free lunch, all others are asked to donate $8 a plate for adults, $4 a plate for children, and net proceeds will be contributed to the Sandy Springs Benevolent Fund, a non-profit 501(c) (3) charitable organization founded to foster and enhance the quality of life for the members of the City of Sandy Springs Police and Fire Departments and other local public safety organizations. The Fund is designed to help law enforcement officers and families in times of crisis.
